Wallu SEO: overview & setup
What Wallu SEO does, its current preview status, connecting Search Console, SEO credits, and the one-line universal fix snippet.
Wallu SEO
Wallu SEO is the SEO and content module of the Wallu suite. It is built around one honest idea: classic on-page SEO and AI visibility are two different games, and a site can be perfect at one while invisible in the other.
- On-page SEO is Google ranking hygiene: titles, meta descriptions, canonical tags, structured data. A page can score 100/100 here.
- AI visibility is whether an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) actually *cites your brand* when someone asks a buying question. A 100/100 on-page site can still be cited in zero AI answers — that is an authority/recognition gap, not an on-page one, and on-page fixes alone cannot close it.
Wallu SEO measures both and never shows you a misleading green number. The AI-citation side is covered in the companion article below.
Current status: preview, internal-only
Be aware of where this product is today:
- The backend API is live (mounted at
/api/seo) and the tools described here work.
- In the dashboard, the Wallu SEO product currently opens only for the internal Wallu operator account. Access is gated to a single hardcoded Wallu staff email — not a per-workspace owner check — so every customer account, including users who own their own workspace, sees a "Soon" badge on the product switcher and cannot enter it yet. Only the Wallu operator account sees an "Owner" badge and can open it. This is a deliberate preview gate.
- Live tools: SEO Audit, Fix My SEO, Get Indexed.
- Coming soon (hidden for now): Dashboard, Keyword Research, Content Optimizer, Speed & Vitals, Rank Tracker, Competitor Analysis, Blog Automation, Content Repurpose, Wallu Launch. Their backends exist but the panels are not enabled.
If you are new to the suite, start with getting started first.

Connect Google Search Console
Connecting Search Console (GSC) is optional but unlocks your real Google data with zero manual setup. You authorize Wallu through Google's OAuth flow from inside the SEO Audit panel.
Once connected, Wallu can:
- Show a Rankings overview built from your own Search Console data — clicks, impressions, and impression-weighted average position for the last 28 days compared with the prior 28 days, per query, with movers highlighted.
- Surface striking-distance opportunities: queries where you already rank in positions 11–30 with real demand — the easiest wins.
- Find and submit non-indexed pages (see Get Indexed below).
If you have several verified properties, you pick an active site; you can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored connection.
SEO credits
Wallu SEO uses a separate credit balance from your Assist/Reach/Studio credits. Most of the product is free; only two actions cost credits.
Free: page scans, on-page and AI-crawler audits, the AI Visibility check, the rankings overview, llms.txt generation, and generating/applying striking-distance quick fixes.
Paid:
- Fix My SEO — 1 credit per fixable issue, charged only the first time you fix a given domain. Re-scans and re-fixes of that domain are free.
- AI Visibility Kit — a flat 5 credits (see the AI Visibility article).
Both paid actions are money-safe: the charge only goes through if your balance covers it, and it is automatically refunded if the work can't be delivered. During preview there is no self-serve checkout for SEO credits yet.
Fix My SEO — one line, any platform
This is the fastest win in the product. Enter a URL and Wallu scans the live page for safe, deterministic on-page gaps:
- No structured data → adds
Organization + WebSite JSON-LD
- No canonical tag → adds a self-referencing canonical
- Missing Open Graph title/description → adds them
- Missing meta description → generates one from your H1
- No Twitter Card → adds
summary_large_image + title/description
The scan shows an on-page score (100 minus 8 per issue) and the list of issues. Click Fix all and Wallu charges 1 credit per issue, then hands you one <script> tag to paste before </head>:
<script src="https://wallu.ai/api/wseo/s.js" data-wallu-seo="YOUR_SITE_KEY" async></script>
That snippet fetches your stored fixes and applies them in the browser — structured data, canonical, OG, meta, Twitter Card. It works on Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, or a fully custom site, with no platform-specific integration. See WooCommerce if that is your store.
Gotchas to know:
- Fixes are applied client-side by the snippet, so the tags are added when the page loads, not baked into your server HTML.
- If a site blocks automated requests, Wallu can't fetch it — you'll see a low/zero score and a "could not fetch page" note rather than a real audit.

Get Indexed
The Get Indexed tool (requires a Search Console connection) collects your page URLs from your sitemap.xml (or, as a fallback, your homepage links), checks each one's index status with GSC's URL Inspection API, and lets you submit the not-yet-indexed pages for indexing. It also supports IndexNow submission (Bing/Yandex) and Google's Indexing API.
Blog writer
The AI blog writer that powers Wallu SEO's content side has its own dedicated page — see the blog writer docs. The "Blog Automation" panel in the SEO nav is part of the coming-soon set, but the underlying generation is documented there.
AI Visibility & GEO
The grounded AI-citation test, the AI Visibility Kit, GEO crawler/llms.txt checks, striking-distance quick fixes, competitor analysis, and SEO Autopilot.
AI Visibility & GEO
This is the part of Wallu SEO that sets it apart: instead of only checking whether your tags look right, it checks whether an AI assistant actually cites your brand — and if not, who it cites instead and why. GEO stands for *Generative Engine Optimization*: getting found and cited by AI answer engines, not just Google.
The AI Visibility check (free)
Enter your URL. Wallu reads your page, then derives up to five buyer-intent search queries — the "recommend me one" style questions a potential customer would type, with your brand name deliberately stripped out so it measures *category* visibility, not a vanity hit. You can also supply your own queries (up to six).
Each query is run through a Google-Search-grounded LLM — the same kind of live retrieval ChatGPT and Perplexity use. For every query Wallu reports one of:
- Cited — your domain (or a distinctive, non-negative brand mention) shows up in the answer
- Not cited — you're absent, and Wallu lists the domains the AI named instead
- AI declined — the model refuses to make recommendations for that topic, so nobody gets cited
Expand any query row to see the AI's actual answer snippet and the exact source links it pulled.
Your AI Visibility Score is the percentage of *answerable* queries (refused ones are excluded) where you're cited. The scoring is intentionally strict — a bare brand mention only counts if it's distinctive and used in a positive context, so phrasing like "avoid BrandX" won't inflate the number.
The verdict is honest about the gap. For example, if your on-page score is 80+ but AI visibility is 0, Wallu tells you plainly that this is an authority gap that on-page fixes can't close, and points you at the competitors the AI cites instead.

The AI Visibility Kit (5 credits)
When your score is low but there are winnable queries, the Improve button generates the real assets that *earn* citations. AI citation can't be bought instantly — it follows authority over weeks — so the Kit gives you work to publish, not a switch to flip:
- A publish-ready comparison article (Markdown, ~600–900 words) targeting your missed queries, positioning your brand honestly as one strong option among several
- FAQ schema (JSON-LD) for those buyer questions
- An off-site authority plan — 8 specific places (subreddits, review sites, directories, communities) to get mentioned
- A llms.txt file for your site root
It charges 5 SEO credits up front and auto-refunds if generation produces nothing usable. You can deploy the generated FAQ schema straight to your site with one click — but only if you've already installed the Fix My SEO snippet on that domain (the Kit appends the schema to it).
GEO technical readiness
Below the citation test sit the checks that make citation *possible* — necessary plumbing, not proof:
- AI Crawler Access — fetches your
robots.txt and reports whether you block the major AI crawlers: GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Perplexity-User, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, Claude-Web, Google-Extended, CCBot, Applebot-Extended, and Bingbot. It flags a crawler only when the whole site is disallowed (Disallow: /) for it. Blocking these means ChatGPT/Perplexity/Gemini literally cannot crawl and cite you.
- On-Page SEO audit — title, meta, canonical,
lang, H1 count, Open Graph, Twitter Card, JSON-LD, and word count, rolled into a score.
- llms.txt generator — builds a spec-shaped
llms.txt (site name, summary, and a curated list of same-origin pages discovered from your homepage) that AI crawlers increasingly look for.
Quick fixes for striking-distance queries
If Search Console is connected, the rankings overview surfaces Easiest wins — pages sitting in positions 11–30 with real impressions. Click one and Wallu writes a focused, page-specific fix (a better title, meta description, content sections to add, and 3 FAQ pairs) for that exact query. You can apply it live through the installed snippet, keyed to that page's path. Generating and applying quick fixes is free.
Competitor discovery & content gaps
Wallu can auto-discover likely competitor domains from your tracked keywords and surface content-gap opportunities — keywords competitors probably rank for that you don't, ranked by opportunity.
Be honest about the source: these figures are AI estimates, not pulled from a live SEO data provider like Ahrefs or Semrush. Competitor traffic/authority numbers are model estimates, and the standalone Competitor Analysis panel is still in the coming-soon set. Treat this as directional idea-generation, not measured metrics.
SEO Autopilot (built, currently gated off)
Autopilot is a background maintenance pass for every tenant with an active Search Console connection. In one pass it refreshes GSC keyword/page data, runs a technical + PageSpeed audit, regenerates and submits your sitemap, refreshes rank tracking, surfaces competitor content gaps, checks AI-crawler access, and lists content ideas.
Important caveats:
- It is disabled by default and only runs when the
SEO_AUTOPILOT_ENABLED flag is turned on for the deployment — which it currently is not in production.
- v1 treats "connected to Search Console" as "autopilot on" (no per-tenant toggle yet), runs roughly every 6 hours, and only surfaces content ideas — it does not auto-publish articles, to avoid scaled-content penalties.
- When enabled, you can also trigger a single pass on demand.
For the content generation that autopilot would eventually feed, see the blog writer.
